Community Rules

Last updated: 30 July 2026 · Version 2

Weyvox is a private messenger and telephony app. We do not read your conversations — but when someone reports a specific message or account to us, we act. This page explains exactly what is not allowed, what happens when a rule is broken, how to report abuse, and how to challenge a decision. It supplements the Terms of Use, which remain the binding agreement.

1. What is not allowed

Violations are grouped by severity. The level determines how quickly a sanction applies — not whether the behaviour is acceptable. None of it is.

LevelCoversConsequence
Illegal Child sexual abuse material · terrorism and incitement to mass violence · human trafficking Immediate, indefinite block on the first confirmed violation — but only where the violation is visible directly in the reported material. Evidence is preserved and the case may be referred to the competent authorities.
Critical Credible threats to life or health · publishing another person's private data (doxxing) · sexual content shared without consent · blackmail and extortion 1 warning, then the ladder from the 2nd confirmed violation.
High Harassment and systematic abuse · hate speech (race, ethnicity, religion, sex, orientation, disability) · fraud and phishing · impersonation 3 warnings, then the ladder from the 4th confirmed violation.
Medium Spam and unsolicited advertising · unwanted sexual content between adults · flooding 10 warnings, then the ladder from the 11th confirmed violation.
Low An ordinary personal dispute where both sides traded insults · a mistaken or malicious report The case is closed. Nothing is counted against either account.
Recorded only Everything you file under “Spam and unwanted content”: spam and advertising · flooding · “I just don't like it” · false information Recorded, never acted on. These reports are accepted and counted so that patterns become visible, but they trigger no review, no warning and no sanction. They cost you nothing to file and nothing to receive.

2. The ladder of sanctions

Once an account reaches the threshold for its level, sanctions escalate in a fixed order. The ladder is global to the account, not per category — you cannot collect a separate first-offence allowance in each type of violation.

  • First sanction — the account is blocked for 24 hours.
  • Second sanction — the account is blocked for 7 days.
  • Third sanction — the account is blocked for 30 days.
  • Fourth sanction — the account is blocked indefinitely and referred for permanent deletion.

Warnings for a level reset after a block. The position on the ladder does not reset with a block — only with time.

A block is never applied on a guess. Outside the illegal category, an account is blocked automatically only when the review is highly confident a rule was broken. Where the assessment is merely probable, the outcome is a warning — never a block, even if the account has already passed its warning threshold. In that situation the block waits for either a confident finding or a human decision.
Violations expire. After 12 months with no new confirmed violation, the ladder position and all accumulated warnings reset to zero. A single mistake does not follow an account forever.

3. How violations are counted

One violation is one piece of content, not one report. If ten people report the same message, that is one violation and it is examined once — you are not punished ten times for a single act. If, on the other hand, the same text is sent to ten different people, that is ten separate messages and therefore ten violations. That is what spam and harassment campaigns actually are.

Only confirmed violations count. Reports that are dismissed, and disputes classified as ordinary personal quarrels, move no counter.

4. How to report

Reporting is built into the app in two places:

  • A specific message — press and hold the message → Report.
  • An account — open the contact's profile → Report.

You pick a reason from a grouped list. What happens next depends on how serious that reason is:

  • Serious categories (illegal content, critical violations, harassment and deception, and “Other”) open a second step where you must attach at least one screenshot — up to six — and may add a comment of up to 300 characters. Under “Other” the comment is required instead, because without a category and without a description there is nothing to review.
  • “Spam and unwanted content” is submitted immediately, with no screenshot and no comment. Those reports are recorded and counted, never acted on.

Screenshots are required for the serious categories for a reason: we cannot see your conversation, so they are the only way to show us the context of what happened. An accusation on its own — particularly in the illegal category — is not treated as evidence.

You can also block anyone at any time from their contact profile. Blocking is independent of reporting: it takes effect immediately and does not require us to review anything.

5. What we can and cannot see

When you report a message, the review sees only: that message's text as it stood at the moment of the report, the reason you chose, your comment, the screenshots you attached, and the number of previously confirmed violations on the reported account. Nothing else.

We do not gain access to the rest of the conversation, to any other chat of either party, or to any personal data beyond what is visible in the screenshots you chose to send. A snapshot of the reported message is retained even if its author deletes it — otherwise a report would become meaningless the moment it mattered most.

6. How decisions are made

Reports are triaged automatically by an AI system that determines whether a rule was broken, which category applies, and how confident it is. This is algorithmic decision-making, and we state it plainly here as required by the EU Digital Services Act.

Automation is deliberately bounded:

  • The heavier the consequence, the higher the confidence required. No block of any length is ever applied automatically on less than high confidence — a merely probable assessment can only produce a warning.
  • Anything uncertain, contested, or ambiguous is escalated to a human for decision.
  • The illegal category requires direct evidence, not an accusation. Selecting "child sexual abuse", "terrorism" or "human trafficking" in the report form does not by itself place an account in that category: the violation must be visible in the reported message or in a screenshot. Where it is not, the review assigns the most serious category it can actually support — which means a warning rather than a block. The report is still escalated to a human as urgent in that case; a downgrade removes the automatic penalty, never the human review.
  • An account is never deleted automatically. The system can block; only a person can delete.
  • A screenshot is treated as a claim by the person reporting, not as proof. Images can be cropped, edited, or fabricated, and the review is instructed to weigh their plausibility and lower its confidence when in doubt.

If you submit a report, you will be told when it has been reviewed. We will not tell you what action was taken against the other account — that is another person's personal data, and it is not ours to share.

7. If you are sanctioned

You receive a message stating which rule was broken, what sanction applies, and until when. A blocked account cannot be used while the block lasts; when the period ends, access returns on its own.

8. How to appeal

If you believe a decision was wrong, write to [email protected] from the phone number registered to the account, describing what happened. We will re-examine the case with human review and reply. A decision that turns out to be wrong is reversed and the counters are corrected.

9. Contact

Questions about these rules, or a report you cannot submit through the app: [email protected].
